What we Do
At Griot Publishing, we want to provide a format and system that would not only print your books for you, but help guide you in putting your thoughts on a paper canvas. We provide you with the means to publish your book world-wide in every format: Softcover, Hardcover and eBook. We are working on providing the Audio Book format in the near future. We don’t make empty promises such as “your gonna be a best seller”, or "we can get your book on ever major bookshelf." We are up front with you, and although we provide you with the tools and knowledge on how to market your book, we understand that the best person to make your book a success is YOU.  Continue reading......

TREATING YOUR BOOK AS A BUSINESS!
AUTHOR SITES
As we always say; An Author without a Website is like having the party of the century but forgetting to give out the address on the invitations. How is anyone going to come? How will they know where to find the party? Author Sites is an excellent way to display your writings. Here are a few things that Author Sites can do for you:

1. Give you a legit web presence on the internet
2  Give your readers a place to purchase your book(s)
3.  Give the readers a feel of your personality through your site.
4.  Give you total control over the sales of your book(s)

We want to advise you on a very important matter: TREAT YOUR BOOK AS A BUSINESS! Some writers write for fun, and then you have the others. Those who not only want to write, but they want to share their writings with the world. One of the biggest mistakes that Authors make is not treating their published book as a business. Here is a news flash: any time you create and sell a product (and yes books are products), it is a business. Now that we have that established, let's get started.

1. Do I need to invest in book marketing?
There is no right and wrong answer. If you have the money to invest in book marketing (and it can become quite expensive), then by all means invest. But most Authors are working with a very tight budget, especially after paying for the printing prices. If you were to ask us this question about 10 years ago, we would have insisted that you invest in book marketing, but with the success of social sites these days, if you have the time, you can market your own book. Besides, if nothing else..IT'S FREE!

2. Delegate some of the marketing.
This is very simple. If you are on facebook or twitter, ask your friends/followers to share a link of your book.  That's it That's all! Make sure that you create a very nice link to share on your social media though. Appearance is everything!. We offer social media tags for your book at a very, very low cost. Check out some examples here.

3. Learn more about Internet book marketing.
Think about reaching hundreds of thousands of your audience every week. When you give them what they want--free information--they will eventually buy. Many authors go the traditional path of talks, ads or press releases. They don't always pay well for the effort.

4  Create an eBook.
There are some who swear by a good paperback book, and we couldn't agree more, but reality is with all of the technology of today, many are opting to read their books online. An eBook is the way to go if you want to keep up with readers. You can create your own eBook, but if you don't know how, we do. Visit our eBook site for more details.

5. Time is Patience.
Another HUGE mistake Authors make is being impatient. If this is your first book and you haven't created a "buzz" yet, then patience must become your friend. People don't know you yet so why would they want to read your book? Don't get discouraged because it has been 4 months and you only sold 8 books. These things can take time, and the only thing it is going to cost you is PATIENCE Keep your eyes on your end goal and you should be fine.
