BOOK DOULAS
What is a Book Doula?
The word "doula" comes from the ancient Greek meaning "a woman who serves" and is now used to refer to a trained and experienced professional (both male and female) who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to the mother before, during and just after birth; or who provides emotional and practical support during the postpartum period.
Book Doulas use that same approach when it comes to helping a writer deliver or birth that story that has been growing inside of them for some time.
Many large Publisher do an awesome job printing out a writer's manuscript and producing a beautiful book, but they can't provide the works of a Book Doula because of the many Clients that they handle at once.
No matter how many Clients contact us for publishing, we will never take on more than we can handle. We want to give you our utmost care as we help prepare you for that big day when you hold your book in your hands for the first time.
Our Book Doulas:
*Recognizes your book as your experience that you will remember for the rest of your life,
*Understands the emotional roller coaster that a Writer/Author can go through when prepare their manuscript,
*Assists the Writer/Author in preparing for and carrying out his/her plans for producing or "birthing" their book,
*Stays with the Writer/Author throughout the preparation process,
*Provides emotional support as well as answering any questions that the Writer/Author may have so that he/she would have information that they need to make informed decisions regarding their book,
*Perceives his/her role as nurturing and protecting the Writer/Author's material giving them an awesome experience.
*Educate each Writer/Author on the Book Industry. It is our hope that the Writer/Author walks away with enough understanding of publishing or producing a book,
*Are trained to provide the same care and attention to each Writer/Author's book as if it were our own.
*Offer "post partum" care once the book is produced. We do not leave you to began raising your baby (book) on your own. You will have the same contact privileges you had when we were preparing your book for the birthing process.
